Audio-Technica Goes Back to Black
Limited Edition Studio Headphones
Audio-Technica is celebrating the classic, all-black style of the original M50x headphones with an ENSO twist, a well-known symbol in Zen art. Only 400 units of this limited edition are available in Australia, exclusively sold at JB HiFi for $349 from 3 November.
For the first time, Audio-Technica has incorporated custom engraving on the earcups and headband, reflecting both sound waves and the brushstrokes found in Japanese ink paintings of the Enso circle. Just as the Enso represents the cyclical nature of life, the ATH-M50x ENSO headphones return us to the sophisticated black colour of the original M50x after a spectrum of limited-edition colour options over the years.
While the exterior is different, Audio-Technica has kept all aspects of the legendary sound quality and construction of the headphones. Featuring 45 mm large-aperture drivers with copper-clad aluminium wire voice coils, plush sound isolation pads, and an over-ear design, the ATH-M50x ENSO delivers studio-quality sound with exceptional clarity throughout an extended frequency range and deep, accurate bass response. The earcups swivel 90° for convenient, one-ear monitoring and collapse or fold flat for easy portability.
Each pair of ATH-M50x ENSO headphones is engraved with a unique serial number, identifying it as one of only 5,000 pairs sold worldwide. As a special bonus, 500 randomly selected boxes contain a postcard that awards the lucky purchaser an exclusive ENSO accessories kit, including a headphone stand and carry case.
The ATH-M50x ENSO includes a protective carrying pouch, 6.3mm (¼”) screw-on adaptor, and three interchangeable cables (detachable 1.2 m – 3.0 m coiled cable, detachable 3.0 m straight cable, and detachable 1.2 m straight cable.
