Adam Audio Sub 15

Adam Audio has announced a new subwoofer called the Sub 15, which fills the gap between the Sub12 and the Sub2100 models (a 21-inch studio subwoofer). With its 15-inch woofer the Sub15 promises excellent transient behaviour with impressive low frequency performance and an undistorted sound pressure level of 112dB max (in one meter). The Sub15 is designed primarily for mid-sized and larger control rooms extending the frequency range of main and midfield monitors down to 20Hz. With 1000 Watts (RMS) power the PWM amplifier has an efficiency factor of nearly 90% and is capable of handling critical musical passages with high and sudden bass peaks without showing signs of distortion or overheating. The downward firing bass port has been specially designed to cancel any kind of port noise. In order to tweak the sound of the Sub15 to different room situations there’s a volume control (-60dB to +6dB) and variable crossover frequency (50 – 150Hz), plus phase reverse switch. Satellite speakers can be driven full-range or high-pass filtered at 85Hz. The Sub15 has balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) input / output connectors. Full specs are at www.adam-audio.com
