Mackie’s got a new line of compact digital mixers called the ProDX Series. The little mixers sport a control bridge on which to sit your phone or tablet, but unlike the Axys controller, you won’t find any faders on the ProDX models — it’s app control all the way. Both iOS and Android users can get in on the fun.

The line-up features two models; the four-channel ProDX4 and the eight-channel ProDX8. With wireless streaming and control, powerful processing, and an extremely intuitive control app for iOS and Android, ProDX mixers deliver the benefits of digital mixing in Mackie’s most compact mixers ever.

The ProDX Series is designed for solo performers, small bands, venues, and commercial applications. The Wide-Z preamps can apparently handle a mic or guitar with no gain adjustment, and the MixerConnect app gives you control over channel processing and the ability to play music back through Bluetooth. Plus, the wireless-based control means you don’t have to maintain line-of-sight to stay in touch with the mixer. Processing options include the usual three-band EQ, compression on each channel, a graphic EQ on all outputs, and ReadyFX with 16 effects. Full mix recall is also available — handy for quick setup.

“We are excited to bring this incredibly versatile, compact mixing solution to users,” Ben Olswang, Mackie Senior Product Manager, commented. “ProDX was designed to deliver a powerful digital mixer with the ease of use of an analogue mixer, all at an affordable Mackie price.”
