PMC, the UK-based Professional Monitor Company, has teamed up with LA-based band Shiny Toy Guns in a remix competition with a pair of PMC’s recently launched twotwo.6 nearfield reference monitors to be won for the best remixes. To sign up for the competition, entrants need to follow the instructions on PMC’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/PMCspeakers), which will give you access to the multi-track stem files for two tracks from the band’s 2012 album, ‘Japanese’ and ‘The Sun’. Participants can then remix the tracks in any style and to any length they wish, using as many or as few of the original tracks as they see fit, as long as the resulting remixes contain at least some element of the original songs. To complete your entry, all you have to do is upload your mixes to the competition’s dedicated SoundCloud page. After perusing the Terms and Conditions there seems to be no restriction on who you are or where in the world you live, but don’t take our word for that. Make sure you check any fine-print for yourself. Comp entry ends on 30th July. For more information, see the video made by Shiny Toy Guns’ Jeremy Dawson to introduce the competition here.
