This should be welcome news to production companies on the east coast at the moment – and particularly Queensland – who have been breaking out the big, welly boots lately… Switchcraft has announced the release of the sealed XLR (Q-G) connector, making sealing assured for outdoor communications equipment, audio and lighting applications, meaning any application where the connectors are likely to be subjected to rain, moisture, etc. The panel connector is sealed when unmated to IP68 rating and NEMA 250 (6P) and mated pairs are sealed to IP66 rating.
