A Bonza Beta
Bonza Music announces launch of its open beta
Bonza Music, the immersive music-tech company empowering the next generation of creators, has announced the launch of its open beta, inviting artists, educators, and music lovers worldwide to experience its platform for the first time.
Bonza is designed to make music creation, learning, and collaboration more accessible than ever. Four years in development and in collaboration with the University of York’s Audiolab, where pioneering work in Spatial Audio has been refined with academic precision, Bonza combines research-level audio innovation with real-world usability for musicians of every kind — from emerging artists to established performers.
Supported by Innovate UK, this technology brings cutting-edge immersive sound out of the lab and into the hands of creators everywhere. The app bridges the gap between professional musicians and aspiring creators, musicians and educators of all ages and genres.
The patented easy-to-use software app connects remotely located musicians in real time over the internet in acoustic digital twins of actual venues. Users can change the proximity and placement of each remote musician and have full control of audio levels for all participants. Bonza’s web-based app requires no complex hardware – a reasonable-spec Mac, wired headphones, sound interface, webcam and fibre-based broadband connection. The UI is simple to use and easy to navigate.
Key features available in the open beta include:
- 360° and 180° live spatial sound technology
- High quality audio
- Ultra-low latency audio and video
- Easy to use interface
- Easy session organisation
- Free to test and feedback for 6 weeks
“We’ve built Bonza to spark creativity, remove barriers and bring people together through music,” said Fi Ryder, Co-Founder and COO of Bonza Music. “Launching our open beta is the first step toward building a vibrant, global community where anyone can rehearse, create and collaborate even when they’re not together.”
The open beta launch follows months of closed testing with early adopters, whose feedback has shaped the platform’s development. By opening free access more widely for six weeks, Bonza aims to gather input from diverse users to refine its features ahead of the full public release. The public launch will include payment plans ranging from ‘pay as you play’ through to membership options for studios, professionals, amateurs, teachers, and music schools.
