Telefunken has released its first non-vacuum tube, FET-based solid-state condenser microphone – the M60. Along with three new models of its Black Diamond Vacuum Tubes line.

M60 FET

First introduced at last years AES, the now available M60 FET (Field Effect Transistor) utilisers proprietary circuit topology, with selected components hand-plugged into the gold-plated circuit board. Its amplifier has a frequency response of +/- 2dB from 20Hz to 50KHz and its custom American-made transformer has a typical THD+N of 0.015%.

The new small diaphragm mic features an interchangeable TK6X capsule system (similar to the ELA M 260) with the TK60 cardioid, TK61 omnidirectional and the TK62 hypercardioid capsules purchased separately or in complete sets, as well as matched pairs of M60 FET amplifiers and capsule sets for stereo recording capabilities.

 BLACK DIAMOND TUBES

The company has introduced three new production tubes, in partnership with JJ Tubes from the Carpathian Mountains, in Slovakia. Each of new tubes have been cryogenically treated for durability, and subjected to an extended burn-in period.

6V6-TK

Originally released in 1937 by RCA, the company’s new rendition is a beam-power tetrode vacuum tube. Generations of popular guitar amplifiers featured the original tube, such as the Fender Champ, Princeton Reverb, and Deluxe Reverb. The new tube can be used as a replacement for the original 6V6, effectively extending the life of these vintage amps.

ECC82-TK

A new rendition of the classic ECC82, commonly known by the American designation 12AU7. The ECC82-TK is a dual triode vacuum tube is commonly used as a low-noise line amplifier, driver, and phase inverter in push-pull amplifier circuits, and can replace an ECC81/12AX7 for lower gain applications.

KT88-TK

The newly manufactured version of the legendary KT88, the KT88-TK is a beam-power tetrode and is one of the largest tubes in its class. Used in similar applications as the 6L6 and EL34, the original tube was introduced by GEC in 1956 as competition to the American-made 6550, but with a higher plate voltage of up to 800 V.
