QR Your DAW
Generate scannable QR codes inside studio sessions
FSK Audio has announced the release of QRonicle, a new utility plugin that generates scannable QR codes inside DAW sessions that link directly to cloud document drives where session information is stored. With QRonicle, recording notes, lyrics, mic placement images, reference mixes, and other assets are embedded in the session itself; eliminating time wasted searching through cloud links, texts, or emails.
To use QRonicle, producers place it in their session as a plugin, then paste a link to their cloud storage drive into the interface. QRonicle generates a QR code that links directly to that drive from a phone or tablet, creating instant access to session materials.
QRonicle was created by developers behind some of the industry’s most iconic products, including Pro Tools and Auto-Tune. Product developer Mark Gordon says, “Recording notes, photos of mic placements, instructions for collaborators, and other media are all essentials for music production. QRonicle makes it easy to access all of this information in one place—and it always stays in your session.”
Common use cases include:
- Linking session notes and production documentation
- Leaving mix or mastering notes for collaborators
- Capturing analog gear settings and recall information
- Documenting microphone placement with images
- Sharing lyrics during recording sessions
- Archiving behind-the-scenes content and project assets
Mastering Engineer Maor Appelbaum (Def Leppard, Yes, Meatloaf, Faith No More) says that “QRonicle is a very simple and effective way to connect your actual DAW session with any affiliated documents. You can add anything from gear set-up, mic placements, recall sheets, lyrics and even split-sheets and credits. The idea is so simple and fast and it can work in your personal cloud.”
