Voxengo: SPAN

Voxengo was founded by Aleksey Vaneev, and became a full-time commercial endeavour in 2002 after the release of its first successful equaliser plugin, CurveEQ. It has since released over 40 high quality, commercial and freeware sample rate converters and plugins, that have been downloaded by millions of users around the globe. Voxengo offers robust and efficient solutions for audio and music production, including streaming, mastering, and surround sound.

SPAN provides a flexible ‘mode’ system which can be used to setup spectrum analyser preferences. Specify the Fourier block size in samples, FFT window overlap percentage, and the spectrum’s visual slope. Beside that you can choose to display secondary spectrum of a desired type — real-time maximum or all-time maximum, for example. The spectrum can also be smoothed out visually for an easier examination.

The plugin also supports multi-channel analysis and can be set to display spectrums from two different channels or channel groups at the same time, and the spectrum can be coloured to taste. SPAN features output level metering with adjustable ballistics and integration time, EBU R128, and K-system metering — including calibration K-system metering. It also displays level metering statistics, headroom estimation, true peak clipping detection, and correlation metering is available too. SPAN is available in AAX, AudioUnit, and VST formats for professional sound and music production applications.
