Voxengo: Tube Amp
A free tube overdrive emulation plugin.
Voxengo was founded by Aleksey Vaneev, and became a full-time commercial endeavour in 2002 after the release of its first successful equaliser plugin, CurveEQ. It has since released over 40 high quality, commercial and freeware sample rate converters and plugins, that have been downloaded by millions of users around the globe. Voxengo offers robust and efficient solutions for audio and music production, including streaming, mastering, and surround sound.
Tube Amp is a free audio effect AudioUnit, AAX, and VST plugin for professional sound and music production applications that applies tube triode-based overdrive usually found in single-tube pre-amp boxes for microphones. The sound this plugin produces varies from a mild ‘warm’ overdrive to a fuzzy distortion. Tube Amp also includes a -6 dB/oct low-pass filter that is built-in into plugin’s tube modelling equation, and can be used to imitate a lower-quality tube triode. On top of that, Tube Amp has a switchable output saturator stage which can be used to additionally overdrive the output signal.
Tube Amp, like other Voxengo plugins, features full multi-channel operation, channel routing, built-in oversampling and other functions.
