Following the success of the inaugural Diploma of Sound Production, The Grove Studios will hold another Open Day on Saturday November 7 from 10am-2pm for prospective 2016 students considering undertaking the Diploma of Sound Production, and the new course beginning in 2016: the Advanced Diploma of Sound Production.

The Grove Studios and RMI began a partnership in 2015 with a fully enrolled three day-a-week Diploma of Sound Production course that began in July and has been designed to provide practical industry based learning using the latest technology.

The nine month Diploma is being run again in 2016, alongside the newly developed two day-a-week nine month Advanced Diploma of Sound Production. Students who have completed the Diploma of Sound Production, or similar courses at other institutions, will be eligible to enrol in the Advanced Diploma.

Current student Justin Ritchie said, “The Diploma in Sound Production at the Grove Studios for me has been an incredible experience. The class is a supportive, motivated, humble group of people and each individual is able to freely express their amazing talents and passion for music & sound production.”

The Diploma of Sound Production teaches skills in Sound Production that will provide students with the knowledge and hands-on ability to begin a variety of careers, including working in a studio as a producer or engineer with recording artists, or looking after sound production at live music or sporting events. It’s suitable for all age ranges and takes Sound Production to the next level whereby students are given an education in the field rather than having to learn only with hands on training, as has previously been the case for those wanting a career in sound.

The campus environment is one of collaboration, with students being educated in a team environment of supported learning, as well as being encouraged to write music together in their downtime. VET Fee-Help is available for the course.

The Open Day on Saturday November 7 is an opportunity for students to talk to teachers and explore the boutique campus. Each of the four studios will be fully operational, with engineers on hand to explain how the state-of-the-art, writing, recording, mixing and mastering equipment works.

A representative from APRA AMCOS will also be present on the day. APRA AMCOS are responsible for the non-profit collection and distribution of songwriting royalties to approximately 87,000 songwriter, composer and music publisher members.
