UAD Arrow Interface & Ox Amp Top Box

The latest from Universal Audio is a 2×4 Thunderbolt 3 bus-powered audio interface called Arrow. Audio resolution is up to 24-bit/192k with high quality UAD conversion onboard. Working with both Mac and Windows, Arrow has two Unison mic preamps built it and comes with a generous helping of UAD plug-ins for use in both tracking and mixing.
Some of the included plugs include guitar amps from Fender, Ampeg, Marshall, plus a collection of studio compressors, EQs and reverbs from Neve, API, Manley and more as part of the Realtime Analog Classics bundle. Unison technology gives you the tone, touch and feel of various most sought-after tube and transformer-based mic preamps and guitar amps. It includes the UA 610-B Tube Preamp and Marshall Plexi Classic plug-ins — and can be expanded with exclusive titles from Neve, SSL, Fender and Ampeg.
An onboard UAD-2 SOLO Core processor lets you monitor and record through the full library of UAD Powered Plug-Ins at near-zero latency, regardless of your audio software buffer setting.
The desktop interface has a large knob to control parameters like preamp gain and monitor volume. There’s some basic metering on the top along with buttons to toggle inputs, HPF, +48V phantom power, pad, phase invert, and stereo link.
The Arrow interface will have a street price of around $699.
UA has also released the Ox Amp Top Box, a premium reactive load box allowing guitarists to play and record their tube amp in its ideal sweet spots — from the edge-of-breakup to fully cranked — at any volume level. It comes with mic, room, and speaker cabinet emulations too, all available at the turn of a knob.
Featuring Universal Audio’s Dynamic Speaker Modeling, UA says Ox is a speaker attenuator like no other, emulating speaker breakup and cone cry with authenticity. As a guitar amp recording solution Ox has been built for years of home and studio use.
The Ox Amp Top Box will have a street price of around $1999.
