NI REVS UP SUPERCHARGER GT

NI Supercharger GT

Back in December, Native Instruments gave everyone (who was on the ball) a nice Christmas present with its Supercharger tube compressor, normally US$49, but free to a good home during the festive season. A comparatively simple plug-in, it’s actually very good and as far as freebies go, you certainly couldn’t complain. There was method in NI’s madness – it has just announced the Supercharger GT, a souped-up version of the freebie priced at US$99.00. As you’d expect, the GT release features variable controls on a wider choice of parameters compared to the bog-standard version (which is still available) that only provides single on/off switches. Supercharger GT also has a mid-side option in the stereo mode. An upgrade cost of US$49 is possible… maybe. NI’s website is a little iffy on whether users of the free version can upgrade, because it’s not a paid-for registered product. Anyone who bought Supercharge have no problem. It seems a bit mean and is probably a website glitch. We’ve asked the question and we’ll let you know. Check out audio demos, videos and downloads at www.native-instruments.com
