10 July 2026

FL Studio has launched FL Studio 2026. Available now as a free download for all existing FL Studio license holders through the company’s Lifetime Free Updates policy, FL Studio 2026 delivers a major overhaul of the popular FLEX instrument, introduces the new Transmitter plugin, adds cloud-based Project Backup, significantly expands the library of Loop Starter, and debuts agentic assistance with Gopher, alongside a wide range of workflow improvements inspired by community feedback.

“Every second spent searching, organizing, or recovering work is time taken away from creating,” said Constantin Koehncke, CEO of Image-Line. “With FL Studio 2026, we’ve removed friction throughout the creative process with a wide range of quality-of-life and workflow improvements, while introducing powerful new creative tools designed to inspire new ideas and help more people make more music.”

At the centre of the update is a completely rebuilt version of FLEX, FL Studio’s most popular plugin. It’s the first major refresh since its release in 2019. The new version introduces a deeper browser that lets users search across all packs, preview sounds faster, and narrow results using advanced filters, including genre categories. A new engine reduces CPU usage for all new and future packs, while the brand-new Core Series adds eight free sound packs spanning more than 200 presets, available to all FL Studio users. Plugin artwork is now displayed at full size, creating a more immersive and inspiring visual experience.

With FL Cloud Project Backup, FL Studio 2026 adds automatic cloud backup for FL Studio projects. Every time users save, their projects can be securely backed up to FL Cloud Storage, making it easy to protect their work and continue creating across different machines. All backups are encrypted, remain private, and are never used to train AI. FL Cloud Project Backup is included with every FL Cloud plan, with 500 MB in Free, 5 GB in Plus, and 1 TB in Pro.

The update also launches with an expanded version of Gopher, FL Studio’s built-in workflow assistant. Beyond answering questions, Gopher can now perform actions directly inside projects including organizing tracks, routing mixer channels, setting levels, adjusting plugin parameters, generating Piano Roll content, highlighting features and interface areas to guide workflows, creating VFX scripts, and more.

The expanded capabilities are designed to help new users learn the software while accelerating workflows for experienced producers. Importantly, Gopher does not train on user data.

Transmitter is a new plugin that splits audio signals into transient and sustain components, enabling independent processing and routing of each element for greater control over sound shaping. It is available as part of the All Plugins Edition. For FL Cloud subscribers, Loop Starter now draws on a significantly expanded library of loops and one-shots across genres. With more inspiration from the outset, producers can sketch ideas faster, push past creative blocks, and build tracks more quickly.

Building on its reputation for accessible innovation, FL Studio 2026 introduces a suite of enhancements that streamline workflow, deepen functionality, and spark inspiration:

Upgraded Chord Panel

  • Provides real-time note and chord detection in the Piano Roll, making it easier to stay in key and explore new chord progressions.

Label Piano Roll Notes

  • Allows notes in the Piano Roll to be renamed, creating visual cues for melodic changes, arrangement ideas, or performance notes.

Audio Clip Gain Controls

  • Adjust gain directly on individual Audio Clips or across groups of clips for faster, more consistent level management.

Audio Logger

  • FL Studio now continuously captures the last 60 seconds of master output, making it possible to recover ideas even when recording was not enabled.

FL Studio 2026 is available from July 8 as a free update for all registered users. For full details, visit http://www.image-line.com/fl-studio/release
