The Overdrive Preamp 250-X is the 10th evolution of DOD’s legendary OD250, designed to deliver unmatched tonal versatility for players of all levels and styles. With three distinct distortion modes and modern refinements, it’s the most flexible 250 yet.
At its heart, the 250-X keeps the same Gain and Level controls that made the original a classic, while expanding the sonic palette with a three-position toggle switch:
SILICON – symmetrical clipping for the iconic 250 sound
ASYM – asymmetrical clipping for rich, even-harmonic distortion
LIFT – removes diode clipping for a clean boost at moderate settings or a dirty boost at higher levels, pushing the vintage-style LM741 op amp
Housed in a durable aluminium chassis and weighing just 8 ounces (250 grams), the 250-X is built for both stage and studio. Features include:
True hard-wire bypass
Modern 9V DC power input (+18V tolerant circuitry)
6.5mm input/output connections
