NEW LINE ARRAY, BUT…

By

24 July 2013

Christie Line Array FullNormally we’d be very excited about announcing a brand-new line array system being released by a big-name manufacturer. However, the fun goes out of it a little when you realise we won’t be hearing any world class touring acts thumping through the system anytime soon – unless it’s on the silver screen. Christie, a company mostly known for its professional projection technology, has decided to develop and launch its own audio solutions for cinemas. Christie Vive Audio is a complete package of line array speakers, sub-woofers and surround cabinets, custom amplifiers and processing units that can be configured to deliver every audio format that modern cinemas might provide including Dolby Atmos 7.1 and 5.1 surround, plus Auro 11.1. Of course, the emphasis is on audio-for-film in facilities ranging from inner-city, multi-screen cinema duplexes to any not-so-humble home theatre setups – and with that in mind Christie isn’t shy in suggesting that post-production studio facilities will benefit from having a Vive Audio system stuck next to your NS-10s on the meter bridge. Why not? There’s a dedicated website, if you follow links from www.christiedigital.com
