STOMPBOX

StompBox-Hi
Yet another wireless link is being released to allow guitarists freedom of movement while performing. So, there’s not much new to say about StompBox that we haven’t already covered many, many other times before on other systems available. It does have a cool name though and as expected, it will let you move about the stage while ripping up your magical riffs.
StompBox comes in a metal , pedal board mounted enclosure and features a 2,4GHz, 24-bit digital high-fidelity transmission.  The unit sits at your feet allowing you to toggle between outputs (for switching amps) or mute and unmute one output without muting the other (for tuning).  A single receiver can be paired with up to eight UniPak body-pack transmitters for switching between guitars.
The new system is based on Audio-Technica’s System10 and has unique functionality for guitarists, bassists and other instrumentalists.
Velcro straps mount the receiver to a pedal board and powering is either by a plug pack or with a universal 9-12v.  Outputs are standard TRS balanced 1/4-inch jacks and for performance security transmitter battery level is displayed on the receiver along with AF Peak and Pair indicator lights.
From the press release announcing the new system, “The StompBox/System10’s 2.4GHz frequency range combines three levels of diversity assurance: frequency, time, and space.  Frequency Diversity sends the signal on two dynamically allocated frequencies for interference-free communication.  Time Diversity sends the signal in multiple time slots to maximize immunity to multipath interference.  Finally, Space Diversity uses two antennas on each transmitter and receiver to maximize signal integrity.”

Pricing and Availability

The StompBox package includes receiver, transmitter and AT-GcW straight connector guitar cable and is priced at $499rrp.
Additional transmitters with straight or right-angle cables are available for $199.
Australian Distributor: Technical Audio Group, 43-53 Bridge Road, STANMORE NSW 2048.
