The subject of acoustics can be a tough one to get your head around. That’s why it helps to learn from the pros, especially in regards to treating your own room acoustically to optimise frequency response for monitoring and recording.
Vicoustic, an acoustic treatment company, has announced the dates for its next ‘Vicoustic Academy’ in 2016. On March 1st and 2nd, students will learn designing interior acoustics for three different types of rooms in accordance with state-of-the-art standards. Although the scope of the course doesn’t quite dive into anything too nitty-gritty, it’s expected that students will gain understanding of the principles and practice involved in the interior acoustic design of critical listening spaces.
Every room is different, and that’s what makes the acoustic treatment process interesting. The Vicoustic Academy training program doesn’t just provide insight into the acoustic principles and sound behaviour in a room, but also allows students to experience them first hand at the Vicoustic R&D centre. The unique laboratory features a variable volume reverberant/anechoic room and a multifunctional room with magnetic walls that allow the easy assembly/disassembly of Vicoustic’s products. Combined with listening tests and data analysis, the unique hands-on experience makes for an exciting few days.
N.B. The Vicoustic Academy course will be held in Portugal, where the company is based.
