Yamaha has introduced two new monitoring headphones in the MT series to complete the lineup that previously included the 2015-released HPH-MT7. The HPH-MT8 and HPH MT5 have 45mm and 40mm CCAW custom voce coils, respectively. The HPH-MT8 boasts an impressive frequency response of 15Hz – 28kHz, while the HPH-MT5 has the usual 20Hz – 20kHz. The new models are closed-back, circumaurals with an ABS housing and sweat-resistant headband for those particularly stressful tracking sessions. A three-dimensional arm pivot and adjustable slider length helps you get an instant fit without crushing your skull. Made from synthetic leather, the earcups are steerable so you can do the single-ear monitoring thing. Other inclusions are a 3m detachable cable, 6.5mm stereo adapter, and the MT8 comes with a detachable 1.2m coiled cable. Yamaha reckons the MT Series headphones are a perfect fit both in studio and live sound environments.
